Hey, I haven't been in Seattle too long and it would be fun to meet other crafters to share ideas and motivation.

Don't know if you have any interest in quilting/patchwork, but we are getting together here:

I'm sure loads of crafty friendship will happen.

Thanks Katie!  I did started a crazy applique quilt project a while ago that I put aside - it would be fun to get back to it.

Where in Seattle are you? I just moved up here too but on the Eastside. (I posted the new to Bellevue thread) It isn't too bad of a drive for a once a month sewing circle. What kind of sewing do you do?

            Hi Emily,
I live in Ballard. Depending on traffic and where you are it might not be that bad.
I have been hand sewing (because my machine died) and I just like the Idea of it. Like I said before, I started a quilt, but I think I'm more suited for smaller projects that I don't lose interest in. I like to needle felt a lot too.
            What do you do?

              Betsy,

I am right off of i90 and i405. Not an ideal commute to/from Ballard but traffic shouldn't be bad mid weekday or weekend. I am meeting with Kristen from Bothel(see Bellevue thread) next week for coffee with toddlers and baby in tow. You are more than welcome to join us. Do you have any little ones?

                Hi Emily,

Yeah it would only be like half an hour. I'm going to be out of town next week (boo) so that wouldn't work, but maybe some other time. I don't have any babies yet. How many do you have? I have been wanting to make stuff for the nieces and nephews - wee little shoes and things.
Let me know if you have another get together, or want to do something out here.

                  Betsy,

Sorry you won't be able to make it. What time and day of the week usually works best for you?

Hi ... I'm also in Seattle.  Smiley  We are in the middle of moving to Bellevue though - sounds like fairly close to where you are, Emily.

                        Betsy,

I am pretty open too. Tuesdays or Fridays are good for me. I'll talk to Kristen Wednesday at our meet up and see if we can work out a date we can all get together. I am really excited about the idea of a sewing circle it is so nice to be around other creative people to bounce ideas off of and be inspired by.

                        Madrona,
Where in Bellevue are you moving to? I am off Coal Creek and 120th. If you are interested in meeting for coffee in Bothel this Wednesday to discuss putting together a sewing circle let me know!

Emily -- I'm excited too! I really like seeing what other people are doing. Not that I've been doing too muchh recently, but I think it will be good and inspire me to spend more time creating.

Madrona -- Hi, what kind of stuff do you do?

Emily -- How did the meetup go? I'd still be interested in trying to set something up if you and Kristen want to make it a thing.

                              Betsy,

The meeting went well. Neither of us have been in a sewing circle before and not sure how they are suppose to run but we thought it might be fun to kind of structure this like a book club. We will meet once a month and one person will pick a project/pattern/tutorial and bring copies for everyone else. Then we would all go home and make these projects and at the next meeting do a show and tell. At that meeting we will also receive a new project. We are thinking about having our first meeting in downtown Bellevue at a coffee shop probably on a Tues Wed or Thursday evening around 6pm hopefully in the next week or two.

My e-mail is brown.emily@live.com if you are interested I can keep you posted that way. I was thinking about maybe starting a yahoo group. Thoughts???

                                That sounds like fun!  Smiley

We are moving to the Enatai area - Southwest Bellevue - downtown, or anywhere realy, works for me.  HOWEVER ... since we are in the middle of moving, and my sewing machine is in one location, and all my stuff is boxed up until probably April, I will have to wait until then to join the sewing circle.

Also when life calms down a little bit, I want to take classes at Lake Washington Technical College, in case anyone else wanted to do that too.  I actually signed up for this quarter but had to drop it due to all this craziness.  Bummer.

As for what I sew -- so far mostly clothes for my 3-year-old.  See here:
