Question about reselling embellished clothing

Hi all! I've been browsing sellers of t-shirt "blanks," and not many carry the kind of t-shirt I'm looking to use to embellish with applique. So...two questions, is it okay to embellish and resell brands like Old Navy and Target brands? Or is that a no-no?

And...what is your best source for t-shirt blanks?

totally ok! Heck you could resell just the t-shirt if you so desired. Not on etsy so much, but anywhere else.

I wondered this too.. just didn't know if it was cool or not. I mean, I wondered if you would have to cut out the label maybe?

When I used to sell children's clothing I often used Old Navy and Walmart blank tees.  I, like many others just sewed my label on top of the label inside.  When I used to be on boutique message groups on ebay it seemed that was the common thing to do.    Many sellers also used these websites to order wholesale:

I often embellish ready made items. I did ask Old Navy (called corporate) about reselling their items with embellishments on them. It was fine as long as it was for a school fundraiser but if I was just reselling for my business they said it was not allowed. I also found out that it was better to order things (flip flops specifically) thru the web in small quantities. If you order too much they will send you to bulk and then you have to pay for shipping. More than if you just purchased thru their website.
