I have a Singer Futura and would like any help with the settings to sew an applique stitch like the way when you machine embroidery one. I don;t know how to set the width and length and also tension. any help would be appreciated

I don't ever do embroidery, so I might not understand your question but I use either a small zig zag stitch or a buttonhole stitch around the edges of my applique.

Since every machine is a little different, you might want to do a few sample stitches using scrap fabric.

Find the zigzag setting on your machine and play with the stitch length, width and tension. Usually, you want your tension to be loose which would mean turning down your knob to a lower number. Stitch length should be pretty small- try somewhere between 1 - 2. And lastly, for stitch width, I usually stick to 2 - 3.
Play around with these until you get something that you like. Good luck!
