anna maria horner dress pattern layout question

anna maria horner dress pattern layout question
    on: March 31, 2010, 01:55:54 PM
I have been stalking my local retailer for the Anna Maria  Roundabout dress. Finally score it and the pattern layout instructions have me baffled. She shows the fabric unfolded with the pattern pieces laid out but the directions are to cut many pieces on the fold. So weird. Anyone else have this pattern and can shed some light?

I have this pattern, and I have not cut it out yet, however the same type of layout is used with the Multi-tasker tote, which I just cut.  I think the bottom line is, you need to fold and unfold the material depending on the pattern piece.  For instance, fold both selvedge sides to the center to cut out pieces 1 and 2. But when you get to 3 and 4, you will need to open it up again.  At least that's how I interpreted it.  Hope that helps.

Thank you. That is what I did. It took more than stated amount of fabric for me and then I forgot to factor in the bias strips that I would need. It pained me to cut into my extra fabric on the bias for one single strip. There must be a more efficient way I have not discovered yet. The woes of being self taught  Undecided. I have the bodice assembled and it actually has come together quite easily so far. Fingers crossed for the rest of it.
