I have an older Singer, the 401, which has the same discs. Do you have a manual?
In my manual, there are instructions on how to insert & replace the discs, but more importantly the various stitches can be accomplished by messing around with the stitch width and length.
From your photos, my first thought was that your stitch width isn't wide enough and your stitch length is too long. Each disc might need a little adjustment in these areas to achieve the decorative stitch.

If changing the stitch length and width still doesn't work, then there could be something else wrong. You may need to take it in to a repair shop. Good luck!
