I have been sewing for about a year, mostly small crafts (aprons, bags, etc) with cotton. I have a very basic Singer that has been giving me a lot of problems, so I am looking to upgrade.
I would like a reliable machine that I can invest in to last me a long time. Right now my skills are pretty basic but I would like something that would allow me to branch out a bit in the future (quilting, etc). After doing a little research it seems that the trend is electronic machines and they will provide a little more power...? I don't have a specific budget but would like to stay below $500.
SO- I am currently deciding between the Juki HZL-E71 ($450 from a local shop) and a Janome (possibly the Manolia 7330? $350 online). Anybody have any experience or thoughts on these choices? Or any suggestions for other machines to check out. It is very overwhelming and I want to make sure I make a good choice! Thanks in advance
