Machine blind hem a skirt

    Machine blind hem a skirt

Help!!!!!!!!  I am making a skirt for my mom and I want to do a blind hem on my machine.  I FINALLY figured out how to press it and fold it right to do the stitch but when i do I am left with all this extra material.  I am guessing i am just supposed to spread it out evenly through the hem of the skirt but I am not sure.  I tried looking at my skirts for some guidance, but they all look smooth not bunched up and gathered.  I can't find any tutuorials for doing it on a curve please help!

With a curved hem you need to ease the edge. Personally I think it's easier to do by hand. But you may be able to do it by machine. Pin at half, quarter and eighth spots to distribute the curve. Or you may have to do a running stitch and gently gather the edge to fit. If it's a natural fiber, steaming can help shape the hem.
