I just got my sewing machine on Monday, as a gift from my husband, b/c I've been itching to learn how to sew. I opened it yesterday and ran to Joann's for some thread, elastic, fabric and interfacing...I already had a couple projects I wanted to try out. I'm telling you - I knew NOTHING - I didn't even know there were 2 threads involved. I was so proud of myself yesterday afternoon just for getting the bobbins wound and loaded and the needle threaded!!

So last night, I decided to try my first project. Wasn't exactly a beginners project - but I didn't realize that until well into the ordeal, and I'm not one to back down from a challenge, so...I made fabric baby shoes, using a pattern from the blog, "On Pins and Needles!" And they actually turned out really cute, I think! And then today, b/c I just couldn't stop the fun, I made a pin cushion using Heather Bailey's Square Deal pin cushion pattern.

So what do you think, for my first time sewing?
