I have run across a ton just by googling them.
I haven't done that lately so I can't remember what I have viewed-maybe that would be fun for SewMamaSew to do a week or a month of sewing with children.
I have done different projects with my niece and don't forget, you don't have to sew all of it. I love sewing some of the project and then using fabric glue to add some finishes like trim, ric-rac etc.
If you do quick projects-that is what works best.
I have sewn several real quick totes -letting her draw me a picture of what she would like to do (she loves to draw), and then we go to the fabric stash and she gets to pick out what she likes.
Next we measure and cut what looks like the size of the purse and then we put it together.
I just remembered earlier this yr. I did a quick thing on my blog about sewing and it has 2 purses on it I made.
One was the one my niece and I did-the other was one I made , but it was an easy one that she and I could have done together.
NOW, if you are teaching a boy to sew, y'all could do a cool messenger type bag-I've done some sewing with my nephew when he was about 8 or 9. He is very scientific and loves the art of how things work-so he loved doing stuff.
You could also do some fun pillows-kids love pillows-large like floor pillows-those are easy to make and you can use velcro and not use a zipper.
Also, kids like to make things that they have drawn/painted, so you could let them make their own fabric, using canvas or muslin and fabric paints!!
Have fun and post a pic, if you can!
Here is a link to what I did with the purses.
Have fun-that should be one of the main things!!!
