Make It, Wear It! Challenge

This is the first dress I've made for myself where I adjusted for fit. I made a muslin, pinned it, then adjusted the pattern pieces (Simplicity 2917) accordingly. It turned out really well, though there's always room for improvement. It was taken in at the front and sides, and the bust was adjusted. I also removed the zipper since I found I didn't need it to take the dress on and off, and I kind of screwed up its installation anyway!

What a great challenge!  I've been enjoying seeing what people have been making.  Here's two tops I've made so far.  I have a skirt that is hanging at the moment, needing to be hemmed plus another blouse, skirt, and dress in the works.

Finished a shirt for me to match a thrifted skirt.  I'm ready for church tomorrow.

My newest completed project was a cloned shirt too.  It's a must when it's so hard to find shirts that fit good!

The other day I cloned a favorite t-shirt with a friend. I loved how it turned out, and how quick it went together, thanks to knit fabric!

            Hi Elizabeth,

I really enjoyed reading your blog, specifically the notes on what you learned with each project.  Your batch fitting post was very interesting to me as well as I attempt not only to be more organized with my sewing, but also to make more fitted clothing.  Thanks for the inspiration!

I made this dress using the tutorial for the "Leisurely dress" posted earlier this spring here on SMS.

I made this skirt using Simplicity 2451. I loved this purple and white striped fabric that I found in the remnant section of my local fabric store. I also love the pockets and the pleats on this pattern.

Here is a sweet nightie I made from the most wonderful feeling fabric.  It's as light as a handkerchief, washes well, and fits me perfectly. I love it!

I finally actually finished a top....been having to do a lot of work on a test muslin lately!

                                It's from Simplicity 3750.
