I also made Shelby a bikini swimsuit using the pattern from Sew Beautiful Magazine Issue #130. It was so easy, and a lot of fun to make.
I used pink seersucker, and lime green rick rack.

This was a fun t-shirt dress I made for my daughter's birthday.  I had a bit of a challenge making the Minnie Mouse circles perfectly round, but got them worked out and sewn on without stretching the shirt.  It was fun to make and she was thrilled.

Hi there; I am new to this blog and I just love all the inspiring stories and makes from everyone around the world. I am from South Africa and we are high in Football fever at the moment.

Here is my contribution for the competition, it is a remake of a Ginger Mary dress. I had no pattern and only some pics to work from but I managed to make my first ever patttern design.

The dress gave me endless trouble but I learnt a whole heap and I would do it again any day.

            Here it is:

Klippie! That is stunning. Did you use a polyester knit?

It is a knit but onfortunately the names here aren't always the same as in Europe and Uk. It was a knit blend of polyester and lycra. Georgeous and it flows fantastically.

Thanks for the lovely comments. It is my first great design challenge.

I had hoped to finish more projects of my own, but my daughter's 4H projects have taken over...

But here is a dress I made for my youngest.  I blogged about it here http://everylittlewhipstitch.blogspot.com/2010/06/purple-tinkerbelle-mccalls-6022-view.html.

She picked the Tinkerbelle fabric out of the red tag section at JoAnn's.  And most importantly, she loves it!

OK, so I am have four kids...three girls and a boy.  I LOVE to dress my girls identically, but now that my oldest daughter is a 'tween' I have been finding it more and more difficult to find cute, modest clothing.  Here is a pic of the patty young yoga skirts that I made yesterday for all 3 of my girls.  They are quick, fun, and serger friendly.  The girls say they are so comfortable and they are already begging for more in different colors.  Good thing I've conquered my fear of knits!  Thank you, Patty, for finally giving us pretty knits!!  I am off, hopefully during my son's nap, to make matching shirts....or maybe a yoga skirt for myself  !

Maybe you can see it on the flickr group page for Make It, Wear it!

Ahhhh-I am so excited/nervous to share my first clothing piece!  When I first read about the Make It, Wear It! Challenge I knew it was my push to make something for myself.  I decided on the Anna Marie Horner Evening Empire Dress.  I cannot believe I actually did it!  (Just in time too)  Yes, there are major issues with my dress, such as the bodice portion being too big (why I am wearing the caplet) and the straps being weirdly placed and buckling, but most important to me is that I want to make MORE!  I now know I can do it and that despite all my mistakes I am still proud to wear it.  Thank you for this opportunity beyond the contest prizes.  Sew, Mama, Sew you have helped me expand my talents and my passions!
