Bernina machine

    Bernina machine
    on: June 08, 2010, 08:37:58 PM
I am inheriting my mother's Bernina machine.  I will have to bring it back 1000 miles in a mini van along with 3 kids, a husband and a dog.  Is there any way I can take it out of the cabinet and convert it to a table top machine?  I know I'm not using correct terminology.  I really want it, but I don't think I have room for the big cabinet.  Plus, I don't have much space for it here at home.  I would really appreciate any advise.

Sure, you should be able to take it out of the cabinet and use it on a table without too much trouble.
You will need to find where it's attached to the cabinet. It should be just a couple screws that will need to be taken out. After that, you should be able to remove it and pack it for your travels.
      Congrats on your Bernina!

Under the cabinet you will see 1 large tumb screw if it's an older machine.. carefull undo that while someone supports the machine.  Remove the machine.. afteryou get it home you can buy an after market table top extender for the machine and use it that way.
