Shirring on a babylock?

    Shirring on a babylock?

    I have a babylock grace a line with a drop in bobbin... and i can not for the life of me get elastic thread to shirr! i have read so many tutorials, and tried about 40 times, no joke.  Is it possibly my machine?

      My 50+ year old Singer has a drop-in bobbin and it shirrs fine. There must be another issue that is causing these machines to not shirr.
