Do you use starch to help piece tricky blocks?

Do you use starch to help piece tricky blocks?

I'm making a string quilt and I heard that they are especially tricky to piece accurately.  I'd love to know if you use starch when pressing your blocks so it's easier to piece?  Do you use a home made starch mix and if so, what's your favourite recipe?  Any other tips on string block piecing will be great appreciated too!! Thanks!!  Cheesy

I use spray starch when pressing my fabric (before I cut it).  This seems to prevent stretching and distortion and results in more accurate cutting/finished block.

I have never used starch in my quilting (reminds me too much of boot camp and ironing our hat covers!!) and I've never had any problem with piecing the string quilts I've made.
