What are the cutest (and easiest) top patterns you've seen?

For women...A short woman,32 year old, to be exact! Though I am totally inexperienced in sewing garments (have only hemmed or made pretty much square things!!), I've decided to try to make myself a few tops this summer. I LOVED the Spring Ruffle Top and that is to be my first.

I am new to the sewing blogs and while I am enjoying happy hours of reading, I thought I'd just ask! What have you made or seen that stood out to you?

Thanks so much!

I get the best fit and comfort from knit tops.  My favorite patterns so far are from Built By Wendy for Simplicity.  These go on sale for $1.99 at JoAnn Fabrics often and have simple, versatile styles.  JoAnn's offers these:

Here's a link Built by Wendy website.

This one has been my favorite:

And this one is for wovens and turned out great!

Happy Sewing!

Grin  Thank you, thank you! I am thrilled to see a reply! Great suggestions--can't wait to check them out more thoroughly. I have a Joann's nearby, but the pattern section is overwhelming! I do not know where to start. I'm glad to have these to go on!

You are right--knit stuff feels and fits the best. However, I am a little unsure of sewing with it! I think I'll try to get more of a feel for my machine with a couple of woven-fabric pieces first--get my feet wet!

I appreciate your reply so much!!
