I'm a lucky girl...

    I'm a lucky girl...

    with some birthday money to spend on a new sewing machine.  I'm trying to choose between a Bernina Activa 220 and a Bernette 92c.  From what I can tell, the Bernette has a few more features but the Bernina has the better reputation.  I'm prepared to part with up to $800.

    Any suggestions?

      I probably should mention that I mainly sew clothing and bags and am probably early-intermediate as far as skill level.

        I would recommend the Activa over the Bernette. It may be a little more money, but you get more bang for the buck and it can handle what you throw at it, esp. with bags.
