1st b'day quilt....

this is just the top but i think it has turned out really well. these are some of my favorite outfits my daughter wore during her first year. this is also my first quilt. I started sewing in july and i have been working on this for 2 mos. I hope to have it all done and quilted by the end of september.

that is so much better than what i was considering doing. i was going to cut up the outfits and use the pieces for the quilt. this preserves the actual outfit. so cute. thank you for sharing.

I plan on doing a quilt w/squares too but i will have to work on that one later. I thought this idea was really cute and fun. the middle outfit was her coming home from the hospital outfit. it just felt a shame to leave these cute clothes filled with memories in a box in the attic!!  I did have to do some cutting to get them all to fit but the idea is definitely there.
