I have a friend with breast cancer, and I loved that I could take her for the check ups, stay with her during surgery and treatments afterward. I sat in the waiting room getting to know all the cancer patients and families that wait there. I would love nothing more than to make cute (at no cost to them) caps for cancer patients - but in very stylish ways.  I think it is so important for these brave women to feel better about themselves going through their time with cancer and would love nothing more than to start designing caps using this serger. Cheesy

I have an etsy shop and a new serger would make my life so much easier.  The serger I have now is probably 20 years old and I hate it.  Don't get me wrong.  It's good to have a serger and I'm thankful for it, but it's VERY particular.  It took me HOURS and lot of bad words to get the thing threaded in the first place.   Cry  Basically, all I can do with my serger is serge the seams so they don't fray.  That has been GREAT, however, everytime I think I'm gonna try something else with the serger, such as a rolled hem or gathering, I can't do it.  I can never seem to get the settings back to normal again if I change anything.  Therefore, I'm missing out on all the wonderful things a serger can do.  I MUST be able to serge my seams when I make a garment, BUT I hate not being able to change the settings easily so that I can use the other features.  A new serger would allow me to take advantage of ALL of the features.  No more pulling threads to do ruffles.  I could use a rolled hem every once in a while instead of ironing for 20 minutes just ot hem a seam.  It would save sooo much time.

I'm sure my kids and husband would very much appreciate the new serger too.  Then maybe I could have dinner ready on time instead of sitting at the serger and saying bad words outloud because I can't get it to work and then realizing it's supper time and I haven't cooked a thing.  I waste HOURS of time that could be spent with the ones I love.

Also, I'm sure I could also spend a little less time worrying that my kids might repeat some of the words that spilled out of my mouth while using the old serger.  That in itself would be a huge bonus.

Thanks for the opportunity of a lifetime.  My fingers are crossed.

As a business owner who creates all of her own products, a serger would make my life SOOOO much better. I have never used a serger but understand the value of using one and would love the opportunity to put a good one to use. And I might be more competitively priced if my work would go faster. Making items in America that sell is still tough when we are competing with foreign markets!

I am very new to sewing with machines and would love to learn how to use such a great machine.  I would start by making some blankets and beds for my cats!

A serger would make my life so wonderful.  I have always dreamed of owning a serger.  I would use it for so many things, but for the most important to make beautiful clothes for my fast growing children.  By the time I am able to afford a serger they will be out of college and I do not think that they would appreciate me making them cute clothes from the fabric I have been stashing until that day comes!  My children are now 8, 6, and 2 so I would have many years to use it still!  This would mean the world to me if I won.

I would love to have my own serger! Right now, I'm stuck in a rut of refashioning button up shirts because my current machine doesn't handle stretchy materials very well. Having a serger would mean that I could do more with tshirts and other comfy knits!

I remember as a young girl telling my sisters that someday I wanted to be a fashion designer as we were playing with our Barbie dolls, dressing them in creations I had whipped up using scraps and Mama's serger.

In the following years, other things filled my life up and it wasn't until I had my first baby that I began sewing again.  It started with simple rag quilts and a simple {cheap} sewing machine.

Now, almost seven years later, I am close to publishing my very first pattern for a girl's dress http://sugarnspicecreations.blogspot.com/2010/02/baptism-dress.html and realizing a dream from my childhood.

Having a functioning really nice serger would make my dreams much more within my grasp.

Wow, my life would be 100% better with a new serger. I would be able to sew more of my own clothes and finish off the seams professionally, so my clothes wouldn't have that homemade look to them. I'm also kind of short, so just about every shirt I buy has to have the sleeves or hem shortened; which is a drag because when I do that, then the shirt morphs into something homemade looking. I've tried using the both the zigzag stitch and a double needle to finish hems, but it still doesn't look quite as nice as a serged seam. I want the professional look.

And so many times when I'm working on sewing projects, I'll need to do straight stitching and then zigzag stitching, back and forth. It's kind of a hassle to have to keep switching feet so that I can do both kinds of stitching. I would love to have a sewing station and a serging station side by side so that I can work more efficiently without wasting a lot of time.

I think a serger would definitely help me to become a better sewer and allow me to be more creative. Please pick me! Pretty please.

Not only would this help with the quick alterations but would save a lot of money. Living in NYC can really reak havoc on one's bank account but there is need to be on the cutting edge of fashion. Having this wonderful serger would let me create the unique and creative one of a kind pieces.

                      Thank you

My mom sews custom window treatments for a living. She made my sister and I costumes, dresses, pajamas, and stuffed animals when we were kids (I still have my bear), and she makes us quilts, curtains, and pillows now that we're older. I spent my entire life with the sounds of a sewing machine in the background.

I have to admit that I never had any inclination to take up a needle myself until two years ago. That fall, I borrowed one of my mom's machines and made my Halloween costume myself, jumping right into sewing by making a fitted, strapless green dress with lining and boning. The last year or so, I have been losing clothing to wear, holes, and stains (some of the rips the result of my dog's sharp puppy teeth last summer), and every morning I scour my closet and laundry room just to find something that's both cute and appropriate for work. There have been days when I've failed. I can never find anything that I love enough to buy in stores, so I'm turning to my new-found sewing skills. I've made myself a few items, but this serger would make my new wardrobe so much easier to make and more professional! I am also getting married next August, and this serger would absolutely play a huge part in the making of my wedding dress, honeymoon clothes, and in the making of nursery accessories and children's clothing in the next few years. I hope my children grow up with the sound of my mom's old machine and this new serger in the background!

I think it would just give me more peace of mind knowing that my quilts wouldn't suffer from a loose thread.  I always say a prayer just before I put them in the wash for the first time that they stay together.  So far, so good.  But a serger would definitely decrease my stress level!

I would like to be sewing most of my family's clothing.  My current machine is the most basic of basic machines.  Having a Husqvama s21 Serger would make our clothing much more durable with a more professional finished look as well as greatly expand the possibilities for my creativity.  Thanks for offering this amazing giveaway!

I know that many projects I make would be finished quicker.  But they would also have a more professional finish to them.  I could fly though a stack of wipes or burpclothes so much faster than I do now.
My sewing room would also be more quiet.  The machine I have now is so loud that I find it hard to even complete a project without waking up one of my kids from a nap.

If I owned a serger, I would curse less, create more, and sleep better. For example, night before last I decided to make a friend a hooded towel for their expected little one. I was given one by a family friend (who owns a serger and uses it well!) so I used it as my guide. She used a bath towel and 1/2 a hand towel and simply stitched them together. Without a serger, I needed to double fold and sew the cut end of the hand towel and then somehow sew over those folds and the bath towel to stitch together. This meant sewing over 6 layers of terry cloth. My machine wanted NOTHING to do with this. I broke 2 needles, had to remove the presser foot and turn off the feed dogs, and eventually had my husband manning the reverse lever while I walked the needle through the fabric. Turn, adjust fabric, turn, adjust fabric, turn… It took forever. There was great amounts of cursing (I’m glad the boy was sleeping!) and I swore I would never make another until I got a serger to make it infinitely easier. And I didn’t sleep very well that night because my wrists and arms were aching. Who knew sewing could be such a work out!
