I thought perhaps we might want to start a topic sharing our creations from tutorials featured on the Tutorial Contest. Here is something I made from the
Everything Bag tutorial.

I gave it to my mother for Mother's Day.
The embroidery pattern is a scan provided by
drewzel. I loved it so much when I saw it that I went and bought some red floss and went at it in stem stitch without practicing first.
I changed the piecing dimensions for the outer bag so that I could fit my embroidery in better. I used a magnetic snap instead of the button&loop closure, and I added a zip pocket--thanks to
this tutorial.
I found this tutorial
really helpful. The steps describe each process very well, and in the end the bag looks great. I did have some trouble with creasing on the fusible fleece. I really do not know much about interfacings, and I would have liked to have added some stability to the polka dotted quilting cotton, but my lining had a lot of creases in it after fusing. I do not quite know what I did incorrectly, but I certainly did not want that creasing on my outer bag so I'm glad I left it as-is for this project.
Thank you to all who submitted tutorials and for all who put this together. Tutorials really help us beginning sewers expand our sewing skills while creating a usable item.
