    Hello!

I just ordered this pattern to attempt to make my 3 year old a princess dress for Halloween this year.

What I'm wondering is, is there an easy way to add volume to the skirt part? It doesn't look like there is anything under the exterior fabric, but was thinking of sewing a tulle or something in there. I'm not a very experience sewer, would it be easier for me to just make the "slip" separate with elastic waist to wear under the dress?

I am really jumping ahead of myself since I don't even have the pattern yet ha

It may have instructions for what is adding the volume. If not, then tulle would do it but be sure to put a soft cotton slip under the tulle one because it can be scratchy esp for a youngling.

I think the easiest would be to add a slip- could be out of muslin or cotton, and then sew some netting to it. You might want to look for another pattern which has a full skirt with a lining & netting that way, you can just use those instructions to add the full skirt to your dress.

            Thanks Irene!

What type of fabric does that look like in the image? Looks velvetty to me.

I found some pink duchess satin on clearance for $4/yd that I ordered - hope that's a good choice of fabric.

I think it might be an embossed satin. I think pink duchess satin sounds great!
It will be slippery though. Make sure you pin.  Grin
