Adding folds to a dress to give texture

Adding folds to a dress to give texture
    on: September 07, 2010, 03:39:02 PM

Does anyone have experience making folds like this? I am trying to make this dress for a wedding and  have trouble getting the chiffon to set like this.

    Thanks

To me, it looks like a ruching line was sewn where the broach is. Basically, you sew a zig-zag stitch and pull your threads until it's gathered.
You might want to Google search ruching and see what comes up. There seems to be many methods to ruching, so you may need to play around with a couple until you get the look you want.
