stash question - scrap or not a scrap?

stash question - scrap or not a scrap?

Ladies! Finally attempting to go through my stash. My question to you is the following - how large does a piece of fabric need to be to NOT qualify for your scrap bin?

I'm terrible since I save just about everything, but the minimum amount I keep is a 1" square. If I can't get an inch square out of it, then I toss it.

I've been doing a whole series of scrap-busting projects on my blog! If I have large-ish scraps that can be used for pouch linings or piecing quilt blocks, I leave them as is. If I can cut a decent strip of fabric (12" in length or longer) I keep it for strip piecing. I also keep three small bins for patchwork pieces (1.5" squares, 2.5 inch squares, and 1.5"x4.5" strips - any sizes can work as long as you're consistent). Teeny tiny scraps are either set aside for raw edge applique (special fabrics that I really love and don't want to throw away even a bit of)or put in a large paper bag to use as stuffing for things like pet beds, cat toys, that sort of thing.
