Advice on curtain-making, please :)

    Advice on curtain-making, please :)
    on: October 01, 2008, 10:25:43 AM
    Hey mamas!

I have some thick fabric to make curtains for my bedroom window. The style I wanted to cut it won't work out due to the nature of the fabric. I wanted to cut it diagonally so that the curtains would look as though they are wavy when they hang. But, looks like I'll have to cut them straight down and across. So I was thinking that you ladies have any suggestions as to how I might spice them up so they're not straight and boring. I appreciate any and all ideas. Thanks! Cheesy

What kind of heading were you planning on doing and are the curtains going to be floor length?

One of my FAVORITE looks is a simple, straight, not-too-short fringe sewn lengthwise, then using a pullback making a nice curve. The curve accentuate fringe extremely well as it drapes gracefully along the edge in a curve. Calico Corners should have some pictures of this as I have seen that there. It is a look that is seen in a lot of the very high end Meredith publishing Special Edition decorator mags.

I love Katrin Cargill's books . Many great ideas, beautiful photographs,  and complete instructions.
