    Seeking good mending/alteration resource
    on: October 10, 2008, 10:27:18 AM
I recently bought my first sewing machine in an effort to motivate myself to begin quilting and stop paying so much every time I need a pair of pants taken up.  I've found some decent online tutorials for individual mending projects, but I'd really like a good book for clothing care, repair and alterations.  Accessibility for beginners would be a huge bonus!  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for your help!

Here's a couple I haven't used myself, but have had decent reviews:
Fit for Real People by Patti Palmer and Martha Alto
      Altering Women's Ready-to-wear by Mary A. Roehr
