Looking for girls knit top patterns - please!

Looking for girls knit top patterns - please!

    Help!
I have been searching in vain for young girls sewing patterns to make a knit top for my daughter (size 10-12).   I would like to sew cute ruffles around the wrists and down the front of the chest (same knit, hem rolled on my serger).  But, I cannot find a straight sleeved, pullover knit top pattern.  Too many patterns I have found feature chunky pullovers with wide sleeves and cuffs.  I do not need a turtleneck either, just a plain, more modern tunic-type pattern for knits.  Smaller girls sizes would be fine for my other children too.  These tops are very popular in ready-made stores, but I would like to sew some.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks! Smiley

You might take a look at KwikSew patterns on-line.  It seems to me that their patterns are a little  more fashion saavy and they may have something that interests you.  It can be tricky to sew for that age, can't it?!  I have a 12 year old....

Oliver + S just came out with with a knit top & skirt pattern which goes to size 12yrs old: Hopscotch
Modkid also has one, (Maya), but it only goes to a size 8. Although, I think you could easily add some length to fit your daughter.

With all the great knits out now, there's bound to more patterns coming out. I would keep my eye open.

i am not sure how experienced of a sewer you are BUT generally if i can't find it, i experiment!! maybe take a shirt with similar shape and make a pattern for cutting. then adding a ruffle would be really simple to the end of sleeves. and then for the ruffle down the middle, just finish your edges, gather it up and sew it on!
