zigzag stitch question

    zigzag stitch question
    on: September 26, 2010, 08:41:28 AM
When I use the zigzag stitch, the fabric always bunches up between the zig and the zag! It doesn't matter whether it is light or heavy fabric. Any suggestions?

You probably need some sort of lightweight stabilizer behind the fabric.

It could also be a tension problem.

Yep, I agree. It sounds like a tension problem. Try loosening your needle tension which usually means lowering the number on the tension dial.

I agree it is the tention.  You can fiddle with it until it works but it may be a machine issue.  Maybe it is time for service.  Has it always done that?  Is it a new problem?  I know the tention is the first thing to go on my machine when it is time for a tune up.
