Help with a Pattern Suggestion

    Help with a Pattern Suggestion
    on: October 18, 2008, 07:33:02 PM
I need help.   I'm trying to make something to go under my shirts that are too revealing. Most of the time I wear a tank under my shirts. I have very deep scars on my chest that need to stay covered.  Can anyone suggest a pattern?   Huh

    thank you,
    Lisa

I have some Japanese sewing books with cute camisoles in them.  I got them on etsy.  If you search "Japanese craft books" many will come up.

If you have used a pattern before, you will probably be able to use these patterns even if you don't know Japanese.  There are illustrations and they are pretty clear as long as you have some sewing experience.

I bought these books because I was looking through pattern books here in the US and I was having a hard time finding the kind of tops I wanted.  They have worked out well for me and I am a beginning sewer who knows no Japanese Smiley

You might enjoy making several inserts with snaps that can tuck inside your garments that have a lower neckline.  They would look like you have a camisole on but it would just be an illusion.  It would be fun to make different colors, fabrics, lace etc. and all interchangeable.  You would have to place female snap parts on the inside of your garments at a set width measurement that would equal the snaps on the inserts for them all to be interchangeable.
An easier option would be to just sew them in or use velcro.
