Looking to buy a bernina, help please!

Looking to buy a bernina, help please!
    on: September 27, 2010, 04:14:57 PM
Hi guys! I just moved to the bay area from Hawaii have wanted to learn how to sew for ages!  In the past when I had a sewing project I would go to my mother in laws and ask for help, and to borrow her machine, and would somehow get talked into leaving my project there and coming back when she finished.
But those days are over because we're on opposite sides of an ocean!  Time for me to put on my big girl panties and learn to do it myself!  I don't plan to do a lot of fancy stuff, just straight lines, zigzag, and a few decorative stitches, I'm not a big fan of machine embroidery.  When looking around, I really like the bernina, just because of the cutwork thing, when I asked about it, I was told different things, a few stores told me that cutwork was an add on accessory, and that I could add it to any embroidery machine, one store told me that it only came on the top of the line model.     Can anyone clarify this for me? Or direct me to a place that can?
    Mahalo!

Yes, as far as I know the embroidery attachments can only be added the the top of the line for each series. (They have several series with about 2-4 machines per series.)
Take a look at their website where each model is discussed. It will help you sort it all out. Here's a great page which outlines it all: http://www.berninausa.com/product_overview-n2-sUS.html
