I may be a bit late, as I have only just joined & spotted this, but hopefully this might still be of use to you, or if not someone else.
You're going to need to check the fibre content of your cloth, as it needs to be at least 50% polyester for this to work, but most lame's are, & DO test a bit first, as some can burn/melt if the settings are wrong
Cut out your pattern (probably 2-1 on the pleat section) crinkle it up as tightly & carefully as you can in the same direction you want the pleat to run, twist tightly, & tie up into a bit knot, double knot of long.... & hold in place with cotton cord, or something that wont burn or melt under heat...........then put in the microwave for a minute or so, setting & time depending on what your test piece dictates

IF your lame is actually foil printed jersey, then this probably wont work, its more likely to melt/burn (but worth testing, as depending on your cloth, microwave, it may)
- in this instance, do the same, but no need to tie, just hold twist pleated panel firmly & press very firmly & hold, section by section under a hot steam iron - covering with a cotton cloth first to avoid scorching,
this wont get you an even sunray or knife pleat, but if done carefully can get you a good crisp crinkle pleat that will work fine with the style you describe, & the higher the poly content, the more permanent your pleat - good luck
