I don't know of any shops in Cinci since I live in Central Ohio, but if you're somewhere between Cinci and Columbus, you might visit Westerville Sew-n-Save's (their site is
http://www.wsewnsave.com/Index.html). Now their website's calendar is not always current, but they always have a "sew-along" generally each month as well as a great techniques class where you can learn new things. Then she offers specific classes each month, too. For instance, I'm giving a class this month on the 20th on sewing (serging to be more precise) up a pair of biking shorts. Now this is for those with a basic knowledge of serging, but there the owner is always bringing in new instructors in various things including crafts, embroidery, construction, quilting, and more for both the newer sewist as well as the "older" ones, too. It's a very friendly atmosphere, and the owner is a hoot. -- Karen
