I've just started making little onesies and jumpers for my first LO due in February and I'm having a hard time with the snaps.
I bought some snap setting pliers and a few packets of the metal snaps from Michaels. There was only one size - which looked average to me - so I just went with it. Now I'm thinking they're too heavy duty for baby clothing, not to mention a major pain to undo. I think I've ruined the fabric around one of the little legs and will have to redo that whole area ...

So my question is this: are there any small snaps that will work with this snap setter I just spent $15 on? What size am I looking for? Or, are all of the tiny baby-friendly snaps sew on?
Oh, and a lot of organic baby clothes toot "nickel free" snaps, while seemingly all of these snaps I'm seeing at Joanns, Hobby Lobby etc. are made of nickel or plastic. Maybe I should just hand stitch the plastic ones? Sigh. Seems like a ton of work!
