Machine Quilting Thread

    Machine Quilting Thread

Does anyone know what the difference is between regular machine sewing thread and machine quilting thread? I constantly see this label but can't find clarification about how it varies from regular thread. Thanks all.

I'm not certain, but a quilter told me that quilting thread is usually not as strong as regular thread since it doesn't have to hold a seam. I have tested it myself with some I bought and although I could barely tell the difference, it was significant enough for me to not use quilting thread in any other projects such as sewing clothing or bags.
