words of wisdom before I start satin & lace wedding dress?

I have exactly 17 days to make a pattern for and sew a satin and lace wedding dress (not to mention I will be making the flower girl dress too) so any words of wisdom for me about working with satin and lace?  I have worked with satin only once before and had no reservations but I was playing around in the forum and kept seeing people having trouble with satin and others cautioning against using satin because of how difficult it is to sew with.  My first project was from satin and I didn't have any trouble and I am pretty expirinced but now I am really nervous...thinking what have I gotten myself into...I mean this is someones wedding and that fabric she bought wasn't cheap!  I could use a little encourgement please....

I totally know what you mean about the stress of using the fabric someone else bought - for some reason that always freaks me out!  You can do it.  When I use satin, I often serge the pattern pieces or at least some of them so they don't fray.  I also use lots of pins because it is so slippery.  Can't wait to see pictures!
