Best Fabric for Children's Clothing

Years ago, I made most of my daughter's clothing. While I used a lot of knits, I also loved to make her little sundresses with cotton/poly blends that needed little or no ironing.  Now my daughter is about to give birth to my first granddaughter and it's time to get back into sewing again.  I've seen lots of 100% cotton out there, but not the easy care blends I once used.  Are they still available anywhere and if not, what fabrics are you using for your kid's clothing?  Thanks for any help you can give this Nana who has been out of the loop far too long.  I think this forum will be a great resource as I am reintroduced to sewing.

i use 100% cotton its easy to work with and comfortable too.  for small babies i prefer knits and never put my kids in wovens until about 1yo (pants) and closer to 2yo for wovens tops.  Even at 6yo and 3yo nearly all of their tops are knits, which i buy.  Dresses are wovens and those i have made.
i dont worry much about ironing unless we have somewhere special to go

i'm curious dkb why you dont put your kids in wovens until a year/2 yrs. there isnt anything wrong with cotton for children of any age. do your kids not have special clothing for pictures, holidays, etc.?
