Husqvarna vs. Janome...which would you choose?

  My Singer Futura died again on me this last week and my husband has sent me on a mission to come home with a new machine that fits my liking.  He's a real keeper!!
  But, after reading reviews online, everything is so mixed with those that LOVE and HATE the machines I can't get a clear picture of what I want.
  Here's what I know...I have a sewing/embroidery machine now and I love that, but I mostly quilt, so whatever I get has to be quilt friendly too.  I've got it narrowed down to a Husqvarna Topaz or a Janome MC 9700.  I've got dealers within an hour's drive of here that sell both of these models.
  So...give it to me, the good, bad, or ugly about these machines.  I want to be knowledgeable and prepared when I go in for a test drive of the machines.  THANKS for any help you can give me, I want to make sure I get something that can work hard with me because I've got all kinds of ideas for the coming year!

It all depends on your sewing needs and budget.  You get good stitch quality from both.  One  evident difference however is that Janome presser feet are a bit larger than Husqvarna feet.  This tends to annoy me sometimes since I am so used to sewing on my Viking SE.  Janome gives you a lot of bang for the buck.  You get quality for a great price.  If price is not a issue, I'd go for the Viking because of the more streamlined presser feet.  That could make or break it for me.

I was going to recommend viking as well!  I have a Viking Lily and just got the Serger S21.  I just need to learn how to use it now!  :-)
