Share your FIRST QUILT!

With the encouragement (and tutorials!) provided by many of you, I've finished my first quilt. You can see the final product here http://triangleshirt.blogspot.com/2011/01/everybody-has-first-grand-finale.html.

I was a little intimidated to jump right in and make a big bed quilt as my inaugural piece, but decided to just go for it. I think giving it to my mom for Christmas might have been the best part of the whole process, but now each member of my family wants one for themselves! 2011 is going to be a busy year, and who knows if I'll ever get around to making a quilt for myself, but now I'm hooked!

What was your first quilt-making process like? Did you start making quilts for yourself or other people?  Do you prefer big, involved projects, or small, quick pieces?

The first quilts I made were for my twin girls cribs.. I had made maternity outfits for myself, and afterwards, cut the clothes up to make the quilts. Still makes me smile thinking about it    I should have taken pictures of them then because my girls are 21 now and the quilts are pretty worn..They still keep them though  lol

Now I take pictures of almost everything I make, my specialty is custom window treatments, which I get a lot of enjoyment from, but I get the biggest kick from making those quilts years ago!
