"Garment Rivets"

Hi to all ! First let me say what a nice web site this is. I really like reading about other peoples machines.

Well, to put it bluntly, I am looking for a source of garment rivets, tacks and shank buttons.
I am trying to gear up to make some industrial shop aprons and some heavy canvas items.
I'll be doing this at home on my "fleet" of home machines while I see if I have a viable market.
I can find plenty of wholesale offerings for the hardware but I don't want to buy the minimum 10,000 units it takes to place an order until I KNOW I will need them.
So does anyone out there have a source that handles small quantities??
I have checked all the usual places (Joann's, Michaels...)and the hobby and sewing stores in my area without success.
I have just learned of some of the particular terminology of the garment industry so I might go back to search again armed with these new search parameters but, I'm not hopeful.
 
And, yes, I do believe one should never settle for a sentence when a paragraph or two will do...
