Funky Maternity Patterns

    Funky Maternity Patterns

Where can I find some decent maternity patterns that aren't years and years old? With all of the awesome pattern designers around, surely there's some that have done maternity?

Most of the maternity patterns out there are pretty boring.  I have 11 more weeks before the arrival of #2 myself, and I've had better luck altering existing patterns.  Here's the alterations I've been making:

And you can see the collection I've made for my pregnancy on my blog: emadethis.wordpress.com

        congratulations!

I have no advice but wanted to wish you luck.  Commercial patterns for maternity clothes made me shudder... did everyone at Simplicity/McCall's fall asleep and forget about maternity for the last 50 years?  Seriously they're amazingly bad.

I tried making maternity pants for my first but it didn't work out.  I used stretchy fabric in the belly area, but didn't realize how much EVERYTHING expands during pregnancy.  e v e r y t h i n g.

Congratulations and I feel your frustration about maternity patterns.  When I was pregnant 14 years ago.  Wow.  I made a few nice things from Vogue, but that was about it.
I was just reading about Anna Marie Horner and her book Handmade Beginnings.  I saw that she has a chapter on clothes for mother. Check it out!

i have this one but i didn't get to use it before i popped, which is okay, cuz it's not specifically maternity-wear, but can b used for it.

Oh my gosh ladies this thread has totally made my night! Thanks so much for linking to my patterns! I've also got a blog about making your own maternity and nursing clothing, if anyone is interested Smiley
