I would love to purchase some voile to sew up a wrap dress
is this a poor choice ? Has anyone used this type of fabric when doing a dress? What fabric would you choose if it were you? Can you give me an example please ?
Thank you very much,
Elise

I think voile would be great for a wrap dress. It has such as nice drape and is flow-y which is what I think you want in a wrap dress.
I also think nylon is a great choice as well.

I think voile could be a great option. I guess it depends on what kind of wrap dress you are doing.

I love voile. It is so beautiful. I've been thinking the same thing-my concern is it's so sheer. I've never really lined a skirt- any suggestions for what kind of fabric to use lining a skirt made with voile?

I recently saw a wrap shirt that someone I know had made out of voile. It was lovely, and washed up really well.

I absolutely adore voile!
My concern also would be regarding how sheer it is. Does it wrap in front and in back? Two layers might be sufficient. Check it against the light. Depending on how modest you are, also check it against the sunlight. [Think Lady Diana getting out of the car ... remember when the photos of her in the sheer skirt were published? That was before she wed Prince Charles.].
Consider also a dress that has two layers -- use the voile like you might normally use for chiffon as the top layer with a tank dress or such underneath.
And my other suggestion is to use it for a skirt or pants that are worn with a tunic or other long top piece.
Enjoy!
