Singer 4423 Heavy Duty

Hi All,

I am a beginner sewer.  I would love an oppionion of the Singer Heavy Duty.  I have visited the machine shop and the gentleman suggested this machine.  I have seen the demo, it seems to work really well.

1000 stiches a minute

It's $399 (promotional price) in Australia (convert to maybe a little more in the States)

He said that he has not had to 'take a screw driver to one since they came out in December'.  I took that to be a good sign.

I also looked at reconditioned machines. They are the same price range and about 10 years older...

Hi!  I purchased this machine a few months ago, and I am having great success with it.  It works well, and for a beginner it's a great machine.  My "baby"  is a Pfaff, but she's disabled at the moment, and I needed a machine FAST!(I'm a professional seamstress).  At work I use a Singer, and it works very well, so I decided to get one for home. Good Luck!

Hi Thanks! I think that I will get it. I have been reading around and the only negatives I've seen are that it doesn't sew through leather and mulitple layers of denium (so not much of a problem for me).

Thanks for you help, I'll put up a meme about it when we are little bit bonded. I think I will buy one tomorrow, I have it on hold
