Tutorials/info to make your own pdf pattern to share?

Hello all!  I'm really hoping someone can help me.  I made a pattern for a ruffle purse that I want to share on my blog for free.  I'm missing the last step to take my paper pattern pieces and make them something people can download.

I do not have illustrator (not even sure if that is the right program?)  Is there something that is free or low cost (100 or less) that I can use to help me through these steps?  I know there is a tutorial on Burda but I don't have the program to do it.

Are there people or etsy shops that you can send stuff to and have them do this for you?  (Not my ideal choice, but since I'm giving the pattern away for free there isn't much to be gained from plunking down 500+ dollars on a program.)

Please help!

i THINK (not 100% sure) that you have to have a full copy of adobe acrobat to make your own pdf. you might google it to see though.

i wonder if you can do the pattern in google docs, i think that is free.

Check to see if your local library has Illustrator in their computer lab.

You don't need Acrobat to PDF something.  It's built into the Mac, and there are lots of free PDF programs out there for PC.  Since it's free, just draw your pattern clearly with a felt pen and scan it - just make sure when you PDF it that it prints at the correct scale.  If you don't have a scanner try the library for that too!

There is a free download called Primo PDF.  Just download it, scan your pattern, click print and choose primo pdf as your printer, a box will pop up, click create pdf, then I think you have to name and save it where you want in your computer then go to google docs and upload it...it's free to set up an account if you don't already have one.  Before you click upload choose the option that says available to anyone with link then upload and put the link in your post then people will be able to download it.  There is also a free CAD program called Inkscape where you can draw them out on your computer, but you would still share them the same way.  And inkscape is a pain if you don't have cad expirience, but just wanted to mention...they do have a forum though..I think. Let me know if you have any other questions about it.  And feel free to email me...I would love to see that purse too!
