Opinions - Bernina 140

Hi all,

I'm hoping you all might have some input on this model of Bernina. I'm currently sewing on a Singer, a very basic model. Bessie isn't awful, but she can be a bit fussy and I would love another machine. I've fantasized about a better one.

My MIL just let me know about a good family friend who is selling her mom's Bernina 140. It's around 10 years old, but I don't think it was used much. They are looking at selling it for $400, and my in-laws would put $100 towards it, so $300 for me, which is very doable.

Any input on this model, and if folks think this is a good deal or not? I looked on the meme but didn't see it listed. I've sewed on a Bernina before, and it was a nice experience. I'm very tempted!

I think a friend of mine has this model Bernina and she wouldn't give it up. Personally, I think $400 is a great deal! It's a great full sized machine with alot of nice options.
I don't know too many people who have ever regretted buying a Bernina.

Thanks for the opinion! I've been leaning toward saying yes to it - I haven't been able to find a ton of info on thsi model, but what I have found seems positive.
