Cotton knit Peasant Shirt with handsewn rosettes

My daughter needed an orange shirt for a field trip. She had a hand-me-down tie dye one she could have worn but . . . The night before I decided I just had to make her something more girly.  Roll Eyes

I cut up an old tee shirt of mine to make this.

I used raw edges, contrast blue thread, and some little tiny buttons on the gathered flowers. It has sort of a scrapbook look to me.

Thanks! I wasn't sure about it until I put the rosettes on and then it seemed finished.

Great new t-shirt!  The rosettes look great! They look sort of 'crinkly' is that the fabric or did you make them that way! I love them!

              Thanks!

I removed the ribbing from the neckline, stretched it (it didn't bounce back) and used that for the rosettes. It seemed a little stiffer than the rest of the shirt fabric.
