my first attempt at shirring

    Bah, I've been sewing for years but I've never done shirring and to be honest I'm scared of it!

    Anyway, I couldn't find my elastic thread but I was already committed so I couched a line of zigzag over some cord elastic. That worked okay except that it was for a doll dress and it's a little heavy at that scale. But I learned something. The fabric is some old scraps of Marabella by Free Spirit.

        You're right. After I finished the dress I felt ready to make something for my girl. I guess I need to buy more elastic thread before I get over that feeling!
