Does anyone have a pattern for bassinet sheets?

Does anyone have a pattern for bassinet sheets?
    on: November 30, 2008, 12:15:00 AM
    Hi
I want to make a friend some bassinet sheets (I think they are also called moses baskets?). The bassinet is oval and I want to make fitted sheets. Does anyone have a pattern or instructions?
    Thanks!

Here's a bump for you, I'd like one too to store in my files, lol.

I don't know if your good at winging things but I know there are several crib sheet patterns online so you could use that to get the overall idea of how it works and then just downscale and adjust the pattern to fit your bassinet.

Another idea would be to just buy one sheet for the bassinet, use your seam ripper to take out all the seams and elastic, then you have a flat piece of fabric that you can use as your pattern.

Here is a crib sheet pattern for you to look at:

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I found these instructions for a bassinet sheet:

The last post has a link that's great. However, my base is oval too and I just can't think how to go about  making an oval fitted sheet (probably cause pregnancy has rotted away the few brain cells I had to begin with!). My bassinet is also a really unusual size and shop bought sheets don't fit (not even sheets from the shop I bought the moses basket in!!!!). so last time I just folded a rectangular sheet around it but it didn't look very nice. There's a tut in SMS xmas gifts for a shower cap - do you think you could use a similar method (only a lot bigger!) for a oval sheet?!
I'm sure one of the clever ladies out there will have a better idea to share with us!

I've never bothered with bassinet sheets.. I use pillowcases and pop the mattress inside and just tuck the corners under.

I know this is an old thread, but just thought I'd link the tutorial I just wrote up for fitted and flat bassinet sheet set. My bassinet mattress is oval and they fit really well Smiley

I used to just slide a pillowcase over the bassinet mattress too. I then broke down & bought a few made for my bassinet later. I agree it would be easy to make your own follwing the tute.
