Ideas for quilt made from my wedding bunting

I'm looking for some inspiration and ideas for what to do with my flag bunting after my wedding. I'm collecting fabrics to stitch flag bunting to decorate my small courtyard wedding. I'm planning on making my flags about 7.5" wide by 9" long, and afterward I would love to incorporate them into a quilt we could continue to enjoy.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could piece these flags into a quilt? I could just cut them up and do a string quilt, but I'd love to somehow keep the bunting charactor. I haven't started cutting yet, so I could adjust my flag size to make the piecing easier later.
