Sewing with Whimsey patterns

    Sewing with Whimsey patterns

Has anyone tried the patterns out of Kari Mecca's books?  I've done the "Color Me Happy" dress, "Sassafras" dress, and stayed up way to late last night whipping out a "Simple Sash Sundress".  I really can't figure out the sizing.  My daughter is a tall and skinny three year old.  Per the chart in the book, she would need a size 4 for front chest width, 2 for waist and size 6 for dress length.  I decided to go with a size 4 for the bodice and use the measurements for a size 6 for the skirt to get all the length she would need.  The bodice is still huge on her (armholes mainly).  So big I doubt she'll be able to wear it.  The first two dresses were a bit more forgiving in a size 4 and she didn't look ridiculous in the finished dresses.  Has anyone else experienced this with these patterns or is my daughter just unusually tall and skinny?
