how do i use my new gathering foot please?

    how do i use my new gathering foot please?

    can anyone advise on how to use my new toyota gathering foot?  I am making a gathered pettiskirt.  Does the foot gather the top layer and sew it to the bottom layer at the same time? -  so much material!!!!

      From your description it sounds like a ruffling foot?

      I downloaded this free tutorial on the ruffling foot from youcanmakethis.com and it was very, very helpful.

        Thankyou for that very kind reply, but I dont have a ruffle foot its a much simpler foot that gathers only.
        It only cost me 9 pounds from the singer web site, I have since worked out how to gather only but not to join two pieces together and gather the top one.
