Want to make top out of vintage silk scarf - Pattern?
on: September 11, 2011, 09:31:03 PM
I scored some beautiful silk scarves at an estate sale knowing that I had seen a pattern for making tops - the kind you would wear with nice jeans & heels for going out.
I can't remember where I saw the pattern. Anyone have a suggestions?
Thanks!

Seems I remember seeing a pattern in a magazine or perhaps a book, but it was very VERY simple.
Place two scarves right sides together. Sew shoulder seams (about 3" long), leaving center opened.
Sew sides seams leaving upper 6" opened for arms.
That would work if you what flowy - or you can create a casing on the lower edge or at the waist and run a piece of elastic through it to give the top a bit of shape.
Good Luck!
