sewing with roc-lon blackout fabric

    sewing with roc-lon blackout fabric
    on: October 22, 2011, 09:15:56 AM
i have made curtains with muslin and patchwork. they are adorable but do not block the light in an infants room. can i sew in the blackout lining without ruining the panels i have made? should i wash it first? i have never used it but it was only 6/yard and thought it was worth a shot?

    any opinion would be appreciated!

    thanks,

Hi!  Yes, I would wash the fabric if you washed the fabric for the curtain  panels themselves.  This is to prevent shrinkage at different rates when you launder the finished curtains.

I think I would hand stitch the lining to the back of the panels to preserve the patchwork you did on the front.

      Hope this helps  Grin
